Safety in aesthetic procedures and the importance of Inmetro certification
The aesthetics market is constantly expanding. According to SEBRAE, the number of beauty centers and salons increased by 600% in Brazil from 2010 to 2015, and the trend is for it to grow more and more, as Brazil is the fourth-largest world beauty market.
The success of aesthetic procedures comes from several factors: specialized and accredited clinics, trained professionals, well-defined treatment protocols, transparency with the patient, a prepared environment, quality of equipment, and safety when performing the such treatment.
Regarding safety, the main concern is finding out about Inmetro certification and registration with Anvisa, the latter being responsible for regularizing equipment aimed at health and aesthetics here in Brazil.
Even if the equipment used does not use invasive techniques, it shall comply with current regulations.
We are experiencing a pandemic, and some patients who have contracted COVID-19, or even due to the stress caused by this social isolation, have been complaining of hair loss. There are aesthetic treatments that prevent or even restore the health of the scalp, as well as the health of the hair. One of the treatments is LED therapy, which uses LED helmets positioned on the patient’s head, and each treatment session lasts from 7 to 15 minutes. It is a painless, non-invasive procedure, but this equipment shall have Inmetro certification and Anvisa registration. The use of unregulated equipment can cause complications for the patient, such as: not obtaining the expected results, financial loss, affected self-esteem, as well as health risks, including electric shocks, burns, and even death.
A tip is always to seek medical advice and be wary of values offered in the market that differ significantly from the average in your region!
If you want to know more about the subject or even request an assessment if your equipment is subject to certification, NCC will be happy to help you!
