Dear all,
We would like to inform you that on March 31, 2026, Inmetro Ordinance No. 211/2026 was published, amending Inmetro Ordinance No. 304/2023. This update impacts the Conformity Assessment Requirements (RAC) for IT equipment, particularly regarding product conformity identification.
As a key change, it is now permitted, as an alternative to the physical marking on the product, to use the Conformity Identification Mark in electronic format (e-label), accessible via BIOS, firmware, or system interface.
The use of the electronic label applies to products with an integrated screen or those that operate with devices that have a visual interface. The e-label must be easily accessible to the user, without the need for special permissions, and must be clearly and legibly displayed. The Ordinance also establishes the requirement to provide instructions on how to access the e-label, as well as ensuring the integrity of this information throughout the product’s lifetime.
Please note that the use of the electronic label does not eliminate the requirement to affix the physical label on the product packaging.
We remain at your disposal to support you in assessing the impacts of this regulatory update and in adapting your certification processes accordingly.
